Abstract
This Paper delves into the current state of conceptual and empirical research concerning micro and small enterprise (MSEs) and their interaction with the digital economy (DE). These enterprises play a crucial role in economies worldwide, contributing significantly especially to employment creation and economic growth. However, with the rapid evolution of digital technology (DT) and the rise of the DE, MSEs face challenges in adapting to this new business landscape. This paper identifies some research gaps in the literature on MSEs' interaction with DT and DE and therefore need to be studied or explored further.
